If you could have one superpower, what would you choose?
Submitted by J.T.
I'd choose to be able to learn more quickly and to remember everything I learn. A trivia and pedantry-oriented super power.
What are your top 5 movies/DVDs of 2006?
I don't know that I watched five movies from 2006 in 2006. I did like Little Miss Sunshine. I still haven't seen Borat or the sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean, or The Departed, or Blood Diamond, or even An Inconvenient Truth (although that one just arrived from Netflix). I bet some of those are good, though.
What is your pet peeve, the one thing which really drives you mad?

People who don't break down their boxes before putting them in the cardboard recycling dumpster. Throwing intact boxes into the dumpster betrays a basic disrespect for civilized society. These dumpsters only work if everybody breaks down their boxes, otherwise they fill up too fast. Usually nobody is watching you when you use them, so conscience is the only factor in whether or not you play well with others. The measure of a man is in how he uses the cardboard dumpster.
In honor of Vox's launch tomorrow, what's your favorite feature or aspect of Vox?
My favorite feature of Vox is the composition interface. It is extremely well done for a Web application. The interface for incorporating photos and videos into your posts is better than the ones found in most desktop blog editing tools.
What's your favorite restaurant?
Tough question. Favorite food? Favorite for sentimental reasons? Favorite place to have a meal out when I can't think of something I want? Favorite place to eat for special occasions?
I'll say that my favorite restaurant overall is Brennan's in the French Quarter. It's where I had the first really memorable meal with my wife. (We were in New Orleans for a wedding.) It was the first place I ever spent over $100 to eat out. It was the first place I ever encountered a prix fixe menu. Oh, and the turtle soup and Bananas Foster are incredibly good, and the service is as good as you will encounter anywhere on the planet. I still remember Toby, our waiter, because when we went back a year or so later, we asked for Toby and he was our server again. Then we went back a few years after that and when we asked whether he was still working there, they told us he did, but that he had been promoted and was no longer a waiter. He showed up and waited on us anyway. For me, Brennan's will always embody fine dining.
How many places have you lived in your life?
One interesting story is that up until I was 23, I had only lived in towns on Interstate 10. Crowley, Louisiana, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Orange, Texas, and Houston, Texas. I've also lived near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and in Raleigh, North Carolina.
What was the last game you played?
I think the answer to this question is always World of Warcraft. I really need to find a better hobby.
If you could be on any reality TV show, which one would you pick and why?
No brainer for me -- The Amazing Race. Even with the sleep deprivation and other idiocy related to being on this type of program, I wouldn't miss the opportunity to see so much of the world in such a short time on somebody else's dime.
Soda? Cola? Pop? What do you say? Any other regional words that set you apart?
Question submitted by Gladys.
Where I'm from, everything is "Coke." Pepsi, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Coca Cola. Everybody just calls it Coke.
My favorite arcade game when growing up had to be Centipede, or maybe Tempest. I probably put the most money into was Iroman Ivan Stewart's Super Off Road. We had that game at the grocery store where I worked, and I played it at every break.
These days my favorites are World of Warcraft and Civilization IV.
